Home renovation in Vaughan covers everything from custom kitchens in Woodbridge to basement secondary suites in Maple. We work across the city, from the new builds in Kleinburg to the established neighbourhoods around Bathurst and Centre. Vaughan housing stock skews newer than central Toronto, so most of our work involves updating builder-grade finishes rather than tearing through old plaster.
Vaughan Neighbourhoods We Renovate
- Woodbridge: Large detached homes, 2,500 to 5,000+ sq ft. Custom kitchen demand is high here. Many clients want to upgrade builder-grade kitchens to full custom millwork with stone slabs and panel-ready appliances.
- Maple: Mostly post-2000 detached homes around Major Mackenzie and Keele. Basement finishing is the most common project, often as a legal secondary suite or in-law suite.
- Thornhill: A mix of older homes from the 1970s and 1980s plus newer infill builds. Bathroom and kitchen updates dominate, with the older homes also needing electrical and HVAC upgrades.
- Kleinburg: Newer high-end estates. Whole home renovations, primary ensuite expansions, and basement projects with home theatres and gyms.
- Concord and Vaughan Mills area: Mid-density housing and townhomes. Kitchen refreshes and basement finishing are most common.
Common Vaughan Renovation Projects
- Custom kitchen renovations with islands, panel-ready fridges and stone backsplashes. See kitchen renovation Toronto for the process and pricing.
- Primary ensuite remodels in larger detached homes. Freestanding tubs, double vanities, walk-in showers.
- Basement renovations for in-law suites, gyms, theatres and rec rooms. Vaughan basements typically have higher ceilings than Toronto homes, which avoids underpinning. See basement renovation Vaughan.
- Bathroom renovations in main and secondary bathrooms. Bathroom renovation Toronto covers our process.
Vaughan Permit Process
Vaughan permits are issued through the City of Vaughan Building Standards department, separate from the City of Toronto. Standard residential permit timelines run 4 to 8 weeks, faster than Toronto for most projects. Committee of Adjustment is processed through Vaughan's planning department if minor variances are needed.
